My mother and I made two trips to Disney World in 2007.

In February we flew Delta into MCO and used Disney's Magical Express thinking that it would be convenient and time-saving.  However,  we found it to be quite the opposite.  The Magical Express counter is at the farthest corner of the airport and  did not have clearly posted directional signs. As a result,  we wandered about for some time trying to navigate the distance in wheelchairs in an effort to find it.  The airport staff seemed displeased with having to assist us.  When we eventually got to the Magical Express area,  we waited in line.  After a long wait, when we got to the counter we were told we were in the wrong line and should have just gone on to the bus.  We then proceeded to the bus and endured another long wait as the bus filled with other guests.  The bus was very cold and made many stops along the way to our hotel.  At our stop,  the driver told us that someone from luggage would be right out to help us.  However,  we soon learned that it was after hours and there was no luggage assistance so we were on our own. 

On the day of our departure, we arrived at the bus stop at the time we had been told to arrive.  About 45 minutes later the Magical Express bus pulled up and began loading passengers.  The driver said that we didn't have a reservation, loaded everyone else and finally loaded us.  When we got to the airport,  he let everyone else off first then took us to a gate where he told us to wait on a bench for someone to come out to help us as we both needed wheelchairs and assistance.  We thanked him, tipped him and he was off.  We waited over 30 minutes with no help in sight.  A kind traveler offered to go get us some help.  About 15 minutes later an airport security guard came and said that he would get help for us.  He stated that we were in the wrong place and didn't understand why we had been left there.  The gentleman who brought the wheelchairs confirmed that we had been dropped off in a place that was not for passengers and felt that the driver had been unkind.  We barely made our flight and were very distressed at what we had just gone through. Needless to say,  our experience was less than "magical"!

Our next visit in November was a great deal more enjoyable.  We flew Allegiant Airline into Sanford, FL and from start to finish it went flawlessly.  Yes,  the airport is farther away from Disney World and there is no Magical Express.  However the time from when we landed until we were in our room was much shorter.  The airport is small, easily navigated and the staff was was friendly and eager to please.  It took us no time to get through baggage claim.  On this trip we opted to use Wheeler Transportation.  (http://www.wheelertransportation.com/)  The professional driver was there waiting for us, helped us with our baggage and directed us into an immaculately clean SUV.  He was friendly and pointed out sights along the way.  A tremendously helpful feature of his service is the free grocery store stop on the way to the hotel. 

Our transport back to the airport on departure day was just as flawless.  He called to confirm the pick up time 24 hours in advance and left a message on my cell phone.  Once again, he was waiting for us right on time.  Since traffic wasn't bad, he let us pick whether to go through downtown or a more rural route.  We enjoyed the pleasant drive and the personable service.  At the airport he assisted us with our luggage and we had ample time to make our flight.  Again, the airport staff was readily available for assistance and we settled into our flight home without a care.   Because of our "magical" experience with them,  I would highly recommend using this airport and the ground transportation.  Their friendly, helpful service added sparkle to our Disney adventures!
